FAQ

A:   PBE rules state that you must complete each and every module with an 80 or higher in order to pass the class, regardless of your course average. Therefore, if the grade on your last module is less than an 80, it will result in an F for the class.

A:   Remember the grade turnaround time can take 2 business days, so you'll need to allow for that time between modules. Therefore, you need to submit your work before the end of the semester.

A:   Assignments are due by 5:00 on the last Wednesday of the semester in order to allow two business days to grade. Fully automated computer graded assessments will close at 5:00 pm on the last day of the semester.

A:  If you submit your work by the Monday of the last week, you should be able to redo the module if needed. However, PBE rules state that if your work is not submitted by 5:00 that Monday, you will not be allowed a redo.

Answer:  Please check the suggested schedules at the top of this page to see if you're where you need to be. Contact your instructor if you have any questions about your progress.

A:  If you don't complete the course successfully, you can register and pay for the class the following semester and then pick up where you left off - as long as your Financial Aid and Academic Standing are good. You'll want to pick up asap though, because the longer you wait, the more material you will forget, and the more time it will take to review the previously completed material. When you pick up where you left off, you might be able to accelerate, finish the course early, and add an additional course free of charge.

A:  If you don't successfully complete a course, you'll receive a grade of an F on your transcript. The F will also be calculated into your GPA temporarily, but once you successfully complete the course, the A or B will replace it in your Cumulative GPA. (Accelerated courses receive a grade of NE if not completed by the end of the initial semester.)

A:  If you drop a course on or before the drop date, you'll receive a 'W' (withdrawn) on your transcript rather than an A, B, or F. You can evaluate things just before this deadline to determine if it's in your best interest to drop the course or continue with it. In general, if you're just starting the course material, you might want to drop. If you're close to the end of the course, you might want to get as far as you can and then pick up where you left off next semester.

A:  Awesome question! If you complete all four courses by week 10, you have the option to pick up an additional course. If you finish that course by the end of week 15, the course is free at no charge!

A:  To master a module, you must score 80% or above on the mastery assessment. Once you've done this and completed the module survey/evaluation, you're ready for the next module.

Before attempting a mastery assessment, you should go through the entire module, complete all readings, view all videos, follow along with the examples in the videos, and attempt all formative assignments. This will ensure that you have a good understanding of the material before you complete and submit the Mastery Assessment. If you score 80% or above, you have mastered that module and are ready for the next module.

A:   If you score 60% - 79%, you will need to:
  • Self-direct your remediation by studying the topics that need strengthened, or meet with your instructor to close the gaps in your knowledge, skills, or abilities.
  • Correct your Mastery Assessment and resubmit it. Note: You must wait at least 1 business day after the first attempt score is returned to you before attempting an assessment again.
If you score below 60%, you will be required to:
  • Return to the module and complete all readings, view all videos, follow along with the examples in the videos, and attempt or reattempt all formative assignments throughout the entire module
  • Redo the Mastery Assessment
  • Submit all practice files, formative assignment files, and the redo Mastery Assessment

A:  If you don't demonstrate mastery on the second attempt, you will need to:
  • Schedule a time to meet with your instructor to review the prior attempt
  • Complete mandatory remediation tasks assigned by the instructor
  • Redo the Mastery Assessment
  • Submit the files from the remediation work, and submit the redone Mastery Assessment

A:   If you don't demonstrate mastery on the third attempt, you will need to:
  • Schedule a time to meet with your instructor to review the prior attempt
  • Complete mandatory remediation tasks assigned by the instructor
  • Complete a new mastery project assigned by the instructor
  • Setup and follow a tutoring plan to continue with the course
  • Be required to meet with an enrollment coach as needed
  • Submit the files from the remediation work, and submit the new Mastery Assessment.

A:  In order to reattempt an assessment that has already been mastered, you will need to successfully complete all mastery assessments in the course first, and then contact your instructor for directions. As with all assignments, these must be submitted before 5:00 on the last Wednesday of the semester in order to allow two business days to grade.

A:  If you have questions, please contact your instructor or enrollment coach.
